The 2009/2010 model year Fireblades were a significant step on from the previous model, with radically revised styling. Power was up to just under 180bhp, and the motor utilised titanium valves and forged pistons. A slipper clutch featured, along with a new generation electronic steering damper (HESD) monobloc brake calipers with lighter discs, a brand new hollow fine die-cast frame, new lighter swingarm, new ‘Ram-Air’ induction system, and lighter wheels, to name but a few of the improvements that this model brought.
