The iconic MK2 Ford Escort, fully restored with a twist.
It started life as a genuine 1600 Sport and still wears the original Signal Amber colour, decals and wheels today, underneath however is a different story.
Up the front, the original 1600 is gone and has been replaced with the newer 2-litre 16V Red Top Vauxhall engine, which has been upgraded with Kent Cams, Twin Webber Carburettor’s, a Stainless exhaust system, and uprated cooling and breathing systems which all help the engine produce a respectable 175BHP.
Mated to the engine is a 5 speed Type 9 box and power is driven to the wheels through the 4:1 Gripper Diff, it also has Bilstein suspension and Hi Spec Brake Calipers to help aid the driveability of the extra power.
Despite its many performance based upgrades the interior retains a level of originality. The original pieces of trim being in excellent condition and the only major upgrade is the immaculate condition fish net seats.
Overall an appreciating classic which has the correct upgrades to make it enjoyable for many years to come.
